Dave Mackenzie

Mr. Dave MacKenzie is the Member of Parliament for Oxford in southwestern Ontario and he is a member of the Conservative Caucus.  This is his fourth term on a row as the representative for that area with a long career in police work behind him.  He was the Chief of Police in the city of Woodstock.

Mr. MacKenzie is the chair of the Committee for Justice and Human Rights.  He is currently the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety.

Dave MacKenzie is married to Lynda and they have 3 children as well as grandchildren that he loves to spend time with.

Let us pray for Mr. MacKenzie that he will have the health, strength and wisdom to serve his constituents well.  Pray that he will also be a great husband, father and grandfather and have a strong influence on their lives.

Peter MacKay

The Honourable Peter MacKay, though still a young man has much political experience.  He has been elected 6 times and sits as the Member of Parliament for Central Nova, N.S.  The son of a former cabinet minister, Mr. MacKay is the Minister of National Defense.  He is also the former leader of the Progressive Conservative Party which merged with the Alliance Party to become the new Conservative Party.

Mr. MacKay has just recently married to Nazanin Afshin – Jam MacKay. He is also a sports enthusiast who enjoys running, rugby, baseball, football and hockey.

Let us pray for him with the very heavy weight of responsibility on his shoulders for our military that he would receive good counsel and be able to discern true wisdom.  May the Lord bless his Christian heritage and give him a wisdom daily within his new marriage that comes from above.

Lawrence MacAulay

The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay is the Member of Parliament for Cardigan, Prince Edward Island.  He is a member of the Liberal Party, and this is his 8th term in Parliament.

He was the Minister of Labour during Jean Chretien’s government, as well as the Solicitor General of Canada from 1998 to 2002.  He is currently the Vice-Chair of the Fisheries and Oceans committee.

Before entering politics he was a Potato and Dairy farmer.  He and his wife, Frances, have 3 daughters.

As we pray for him, let’s ask that his experience in Parliament would become wisdom for those around him; his party, colleagues, committee’s, and other parties.  Pray that God would bless his family and marriage.  Pray that he would continue to represent his riding with fairness, equality and justice.

James Lunney

James Lunney is the Member of Parliament for Nanaimo – Alberni, British Columbia. He is a member of the Conservative Party, and this is his 5th term in Parliament.

He is a member of the Environment and Sustainable Development committee.

He attended the University of Manitoba receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, and then received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. He and his wife, Helen are active member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and their Church community. They also enjoy traveling internationally.

As we pray for him, let’s ask that God would bless him as a man of God. Pray that his faith would deepen and increase. Pray that he would represent his constituency with fairness and equality. Pray that his marriage would be strengthened in this time, and pray that his wife would also be blessed.

Tom Lukiwski is the Member of Parliament for Regina – Lumsden – Lake Centre, Saskatchewan.  He is a member of the Conservative Party, and this is his 4th term in Parliament.

Currently he is a member of the Procedure and House Affairs committee.  He also serves as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons.

Before entering politics he was a successful small business owner.  One of his favorite hobbies away from politics is golf.  He and his wife Diane have two sons, Tyler and Ryland.

As we pray for him, let’s ask that God would bless him as an MP, as a father, and as a husband.  Pray that he would be able to balance these three roles.  Pray that he would represent the interests of his riding and the province of Saskatchewan.  Pray that God would bless his family and this would be a time of strengthening for them.

Hon. Rose-Marie Losier-Cool

The Honourable Rose-Marie Losier-Cool was appointed to the Senate to represent the region of Tracacdie, New Brunswick in 1995 and sits as a member of the Liberal Caucus. She was its Deputy Speaker from November 17, 1999, to October 7, 2002, and the very first woman to be its Chief Government Whip from January 15, 2004 to January 23, 2006. On April 6, 2006, she was re-elected Deputy Speaker.

In the Senate, she has also chaired the Standing Committee on Official Languages and the Standing Committee of Selection, and has been a member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Standing Committee on Human Rights. Currently Ms. Losier-Cool sits on the Committees for Fisheries and Oceans and Official Languages. She has a strong background in education, status of women, and also Francophone culture issues.

Let us pray for her that she will be a wonderful bridge-builder between the two founding cultures of our land and that she will have the wisdom and strength to bring collaboration in the Upper Chamber.

Ben Lobb

Ben Lobb is the Member of Parliament for Huron – Bruce, Ontario.  He is a member of the Conservative party, and this is his second term in Parliament.

He is currently a member of the Agriculture and Agri-Food committee.  He is also a member of the Veterans Affairs committee.

Prior to entering politics he worked in the auto and technology industries.  He attended Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

He is married to his wife, Andrea Lobb.

As we pray for him, let’s ask that God would bless this time in his life.  May it be a time of increasing wisdom and leadership.  Pray that he would continue to feel a passion (and joy) as he represents his constituents.  Pray that he would be surrounded by men and women of integrity on Parliament Hill.  Pray that his marriage would stand the stress and test of this time.

Wladyslaw Lizon

Mr. Wladyslaw Lizon is in his first term of serving as a member of the Conservative Party of Canada. He represents the riding of Mississauga East-Cooksville in Ontario.

Wladyslaw founded Gomark Enterprises, which is a consulting business which designs and supplies interior finishes in marble, granite and other natural stones. He has also proudly served as National President of the Canadian Polish Congress for the past 5 years.

Mr. Lizon sits on the Standing Committees on Natural Resources and Veterans Affairs.

He, along with his wife, Malgorzata, live in Mississauga. They have two grown children and three grandchildren.

Today, let’s pray that he would have the Lord’s favour upon him as he is with his family. May he be blessed with rest and peace so that he will be ready to carry on with his duties when the time comes. May the Lord be with him.

Laurin Liu

 

Laurin Liu is in her first term of representing Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, Quebec as an NDP Member of Parliament.

Prior to assuming office, Ms. Liu sat on the Board of Directors of a community radio station in Montreal and worked as a journalist for independent community media.

Ms. Liu was appointed as the Assistant Critic on the Environment and sits on the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development.

As we pray for Laurin today, let’s ask that God would place great peers around her who will encourage and council her. Pray that she will feel a great amount of support from her staff and colleagues during the long hours of work, and that she would be given the grace to serve to her fullest potential.

Chungsen Leung

Chungsen Leung is the Conservative member representing the riding of Willowdale, Ontario. This is his first term as a Parliamentarian.

Mr. Leung has had much experience in the business world in the areas of disaster mitigation management, air and water purification, sports equipment retailing, etc. He has also been a member of numerous federal and provincial trade missions.

Mr. Leung was appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for the minister of Multiculturalism. He sits as a member on the Standing Committee and Subcommittee on Citizenship and Immigration.
