Jean Dorion

Mr. Jean Dorion is the Member of Parliament for Longueuil–Pierre-Boucher in Quebec on the south shore opposite Montreal.  This is his first term in office and he is a member of the Bloc Quebecois.

Mr. Dorion has experience as a senior public servant with a background in labour relations.  He sits on the Committee for Citizenship and Immigration.

Let us pray for him that he will have good health so that he can work well representing his constituents.  May the Lord give him wisdom for his tasks and to understand the needs of the people of Longueuil–Pierre-Boucher.



Stéphane Dion

The Honourable Stéphane Dion is the M.P. for Saint-Laurent—Cartierville in Quebec.  This is his sixth term in the House of Commons and he is best remembered as the former leader of the Liberal Party.  In that role he continues to provide wisdom and experience to the current leader and to his party in general.

Mr. Dion is a great champion for the unity between English and French in our nation and also for the protection of our Environment.

Let us pray for him as he seeks to represent his constituents here in Ottawa and as he helps younger M.P.s to understand the life they are now living.  Pray for him as a husband and a father that he will be a blessing to those closest to him.  May he know the Lord’s blessing in his future plans.


Sukh Dhaliwal

Sukh Dhaliwal is the Member of Parliament for Newton—North Delta, British Columbia.  He is a member of the Liberal Party, and this will be his second term in Parliament.

Sukh is a member of the Transport, Infrastructure and Communities Committee.  He is also an Associate Member of Citizenship and Immigration, Industry, Science and Technology and International Trade.  By profession, Sukh is a Professional Engineer and British Columbia Land Surveyor. He is married to Roni and they have three children.

Today as we pray for Sukh, let us think about his physical health, that he will be able to work without having to worry about physical needs. Let us also pray for his mental heath, that he will be able to focus and will have a sharp mind for the future days ahead. Pray that peace and rest would enter into his life this summer, that he will be able to find time to be with his family, and to regenerate before Parliament sits again. Think about Philippians 4:7 as you pray for Sukh. Let us be thankful for his voice for his constituency.

Mike Duffy

Senator Mike Duffy was appointed in January 2009 as the representative for Cavendish, Prince Edward Island by the Conservative government.   A native of PEI he is know nationally as an icon in the Television News world having up until his appointment hosted a daily political news show.

He is a member of the Senate Committee for Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament, as well as the Committee for Agriculture and Forestry.

Having recovered from a major heart problem last year, let us pray for his physical health and for his ability to make a difference on the other side of the microphone.


Percy E. Downe

Senator Percy Downe was appointed as a Liberal to the Senate of Canada by the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien.  He has served in the Senate representing Charlottetown in the province of Prince Edward Island since June 26, 2003.  He has had many years working as executive assistant to the Canadian Prime Minister and the Premier of PEI.

Senator Downe is currently a member of the Standing Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Standing Senate Committee on Internal Economy, and the Executive Committee of the Canada-NATO Parliamentary Association.

Let’s pray for Mr. Downe that he would have the health and strength he needs to fulfill his roles in the Senate and to be a great servant to the province of PEI.  May the Lord enable him to be a great husband and a loving father to his two children.

Fred Dickson

The Honourable Fred Dickson represents Halifax in Nova Scotia.  He is a member of the Conservative Caucus and was appointed at the beginning of 2009 by P.M. Stephen Harper.

He has had a long and distinguished career in law and has been a legal expert advising the government on offshore resource development on a number of significant projects over the years.

Mr. Dickson is a member of the Senate Committee for Legal and Constituitional Affairs and also the Joint Committee on the Scrutiny of Regulations.

  Let us pray that he will enjoy good health as he serves until 2012 and seeks to represent Nova Scotians with all his experience and expertise.  May the Lord bless his family and give him quality time with them in the midst of his busy life.


Gilles Duceppe

Gilles Duceppe is the leader of the Bloc Québécois and also represents the riding of Laurier-Saint Marie, Québec.  He was first elected in 1990 and has since been re-elected 6 times making the 40th parliament his 7th term in Parliament.

During his early adulthood he became a Quebec Separatist and has since been advocating for greater freedom for Quebc.  His ideology is left-wing based– at one point he was a member of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Workers’ Party.

He and his wife, Yolande Brunelle have two children.

As we pray for Gilles Duceppe ask that God would continue to heal the hurt between Francophone and Anglophone in Canada.  Pray that God would bring unity and that the gap would be bridged between Quebec and the rest of Canada.  Pray that God would stir the Canadian church to be a church of reconciliation.

Pray that Gilles Duceppe would know Gods healing mercy.  Pray that Anglophones would begin to step into his life & redeem the hurt caused by English people in the past.
