Roger Gaudet

Roger Gaudet sits in Parliament as the representative for Montcalm, Québec.  First elected to Parliament in 2002, he continues to serve his community as an active member of the Bloc Québécois.  He is currently re-elected for his fourth term consecutive term.

Currently Mr Gaudet serves as a member of the Transport, Infrastructure and Communities Committee and the Veterans Affairs committee.  He is also actively involved in the Fisheries and Oceans Committee, sitting as an associate member.

Mr. Gaudet has received accreditation as a building estimator as well as an accounting degree specializing in banking.  Prior to his election to our parliament he was actively involved in his community – serving as city councilor.

Pray that he would be able to represent the all issues of his constituents fairly and with equality.  Ask that the Lord would give him wisdom in discerning and prioritizing the concerns presented to him, and that he would be able to manage the challenges that come with serving our nations.   Also pray that he would be able to earnestly present the concerns of French-Canadians into Parliament, and that the message that he carried would both be heard and received.

Marc Garneau

Marc Garneau is brand new to our government, elected for his first term as a Member of Parliament in our last election.  He is sitting as a member of the Liberal Party, representing Westmount- Ville-Marie, Québec.

Mr. Garneau was born and raised in Quebec.  He later moved on to received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the Royal Military College of Kingston in 1970, as well as receiving a  Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, England in 1973.

He first began serving Canada as a Navy combat systems engineer on HMCS Algonquin between 1974 to 1976.  He later began a space career, and was selected to take part in the Canadian Astronaut Program from the Department of National Defence in 1984.  He also completed a one-year training program at the Johnson Space Center beginning in August 1992.

Mr. Garneau currently sits as vice-chair for the Subcommittee on Canadian Industrial Sectors of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology.  In addition, he serves as a member of the  Industry, Science and Technology Committee and the Subcommittee on Canadian Industrial Sectors of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology

Marc Garneau is married to Pamela Soame.  They have two children together, Adrien and George Mr. Garneau also has two twins from his first marriage, Yves and Simone.

As we pray, let us continue to lift up his family as well, asking God to cultivate and prosper those relationships.   Pray that the Lord would give him strength to uphold truth and righteousness within our nation.  As well, we ask that the Lord would speak life and blessing into Mr. Garneau’s life.

Cheryl Gallant

Cheryl Gallant is the member of Parliament for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, Ontario.  She is an active member of the Conservative Party, and has been serving  our nation faithfully for the last four terms.

She is currently a member of the  the National Defense committee, as well as participating as an associate member on multiple other committees including Aboriginal Affairs and Norther Development Committee, Natural Resources Committee and the Health Committee.

Ms. Gallant has earnestly served the community of  Pembroke, even prior to her election as a Member of Parliament in 2000.  Her positions as Chair of the Downtown Development Commission and as a member of the city’s Economic Advisory Committee allowed her the freedom to have a positive impact.

Cheryl Gallant and her husband, Jamie, have four daughters, ages ranging between 15 and 21.

Let us lift up her marriage and family in prayer, asking that the Lord would continually show her how to be a good wife and  mother.  May God continually provide wisdom and insight as she daily faces challenges and decisions.  Lord we pray that she would walk in integrity and righteousness as she walks in authority and leadership over our nation.

Royal Galipeau

Royal Galipeau is the M.P. for Ottawa-Orléans, on the east side of the capital region.  This is his second term representing this constituency, a very rare occurence for a Conservative party member.  He comes from a background of public service, having been a local city councillor previously.

Currently Mr. Galipeau is the Vice Chair of the Committee for Scrutiny of Regulations, and also the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure.  He also sits on the Official Languages Committee.

Royal has been married to Anne for 35 years and has 3 sons and a daughter.  He is very dedicated to them and his community.

  Let us pray for Mr. Galipeau as he seeks to be a voice for fairness and protocols of honour within the Parliamentary system.  Pray that he will have good health and vigour to continue to be a great influence on his colleagues.  Especially pray for his initiative to provide Mass for faithful Catholics on The Hill.

Irving Gerstein

Senator Irving Gerstein was appointed at the beginning of 2009 by PM Stephen Harper and represents the city of Toronto, Ontario.  He is a distinguished businessman who has been awarded the Orders of Ontario and Canada for his contributions to society.

Mr. Gerstein is the Deputy Chair of the Senate National Finance Committee and also sits on the Committee for Banking, Trade and Commerce.

Let us pray for him as he settles into his new role and begins working with new colleagues in the Senate.  May the Lord continue to use him as a good influence in our nation, granting him health and wisdom.


Christiane Gagnon

Christiane Gagnon is the member of Parliament for Québec, Québec.  She is a member of the Bloc Québécois, and this will be her 6th term in Parliament.

She is currently a member on the Scrutiny of Regulations committee.  She is also the current Deputy House Leader of the Bloc Québécois.

When the Bloc was first formed in 1991, Christiane Gagnon was one of the founding members.

As we pray for her let’s ask that God would continue to heal the divide between French and English Canada.  Pray that reconciliation would happen within her own heart and party.  Pray that God would give her continued strength as she continues to serve in Parliament.  Also pray that she would receive new vision and purpose for her party.

George Furey

July 25, 2009


Senator George Furey was appointed in 1999 to represent the province of Newfoundland and Labradour, and sits as a Liberal.  Mr. Furey had a distinguished career as an educator and then as a lawyer in his hometown of St. John’s before coming to Ottawa.  He is known as a forthright man who speaks his mind on issues that concern his province.

Senator Furey currently chairs the Senate Committee for Internal Economy, Budgets, and Aministration and also sits on the Committee for Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament.

Mr. Furey and his wife, Karen, have four children: Andrew, Meghan, Rebecca, and David.

Let us pray that the Lord would help him to be a great husband and father.  May he have wisdom to focus on the most important issues and strength to do his best of his province.  Lord we pray that he would have a good working relationship with his staff and colleagues.
