Kelly Block

Kelly Block is the MP for Saskatoon—Rosetown—Biggar, Saskatchewan.  She is a member of the Conservative Party and this is her first term in Parliament.

She is currently a member of the Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics committee, as well as a member of the Finance committee.

Before being elected she was very involved, in various roles, within the province of Saskatchewan, and also within her hometown of Waldheim.  She was elected mayor of Waldheim in 2003, and served until 2008.

In praying for her, let’s ask that God would continue to bless her in the field of Federal politics.  May she know the encouragement and support of colleagues and form healthy friendships as she makes her way in the House of Parliament.  Pray for great wisdom and favour on her life.

Steven Blaney

Steven Blaney is the MP for Lévis—Bellechasse which is on the south shore across from the city of Québec.  He is a member of the Conservative Party, and this is his second term in Parliament.

He is a member of the Official Languages committee and thus answers many of the challenges that come from the Bloc Quebecois when they raise questions about language issues in Question Period on a regular basis.

Steven has been living in Lévis  for 15 years and is married to Marie Bouchard. He has two children, Wiliam-Antonie and Alexandra.

When we pray for Steven today, lets remember to ask the Lord to bring new insight to difficult situations during his term in Parliament.  Pray that he would be able to walk with integrity and with wisdom as he works with his fellow parliamentary co-workers. Also lets pray for his personal life that he would be able to rest well, and that he would be able to find peace within the days that can be stressful. May the Lord bless him and his family during these times.

Raynald Blais

Raynald Blais is a Bloc Québécois Member of Parliament and represents the riding of  Gaspésie—Îles-de-la-Madeleine on the eastern coast of Québec.

Raynald is the Vice-Chair and member of the committee for Fisheries and Oceans, and Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans.  Raynald’s former career was a  journalist and political assistant.

As we pray for Raynald today, let us remember to ask for strength, and wisdom in the committees he has been placed in; especially in Fisheries and Oceans. Lets also pray that he would be able to represent his constituency with diligence and with much wisdom, that he will be able to be the voice for the people in his area. Pray that good physical health and mental health will be on his side for today and in the future.

Jean-Pierre Blackburn

The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Jonquière—Alma in central Quebec.  This is his second term of office and both times he has been entrusted with responsible Cabinet posts.

Currently Mr. Blackburn holds two Ministries.  He is the Minister of Veteran Affairs and the Minister of State (Agriculture).

Let’s pray for a healthy marriage and family life amidst the busy responsibilities that he carries.  May the Lord give him great wisdom and good advisors and staff as he works with these important departments.

Bernard Bigras

Bernard Bigras is the MP for Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie in Québec. He is a member of the Bloc Québécois and this is his fifth term.

 Bernard is Vice Chair of the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee,  and also for the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development.  Bernards profession is a Economist, and a political adviser.

Pray that Bernard would be able to use his wisdom and knowledge in these times to work together with others for the environment of our whole nation.  We thank God for the roles Bernard has with the different committees of which he is a part.  May he be blessed for the hard work he puts into his constituency and into this Nation. Pray that strength and courage would continue to be with him as he continues his fifth term.

James Bezan

James Bezan is an MP for the Selkirk—Interlake constituency in Manitoba. He is a member of the Conservative Party and this is his third term.

James is the Chair for the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee, as well as the Chair for the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development. 

James and his wife Kelly have three daughters; Cortney, Taylor, and Cassidy. They own a cattle farm near Teulon, Manitoba.  James has held various positions in agri-businesses, as well as owning an export and consulting company.

Let us pray for James, for his riding, his family, his time at work, and his time at home; that he will have much physical and mental rest, so that he will be able to represent his constituency and work on his committees with passion and with diligence. Let us pray for James that he and his family will be blessed in this season of their life.

Dennis Bevington

   Dennis Bevington is a Member of Parliament from the New Democratic Party.  He represents the riding of the Western Arctic which is essentially the Northwest Territories bordered by the Yukon on the west and Nunavut on the east.  Mr. Bevington is a true northerner and was born in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories.  He was a successful businessman, administrator and manager before running in the federal election.    He currently sits on the Committee for Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. 

      Let’s pray for Mr. Bevington as he has a really large riding, landwise, compared to other ridings that are smaller and more populated in the cities.  He needs strength and the time and the ability just to travel the vastness of it, to meet the people and to represent them fairly.  Many of his consituents would be aboriginal with special needs relating to living conditions, health care, education, etc.  Pray that the Lord would give him wisdom and a heart for justice and compassion for everyone that he represents.
