Bob Dechert

Bob Dechert is the Member of Parliament for Mississauga – Erindale, Ontario. He is a member of the Conservative Party, and this is his 2nd term in Parliament.

Bob is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1985 with a degree in law. His career eventually progressed to a Senior Partner with Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, Canada’s largest law firm. He currently lives in Mississauga with his wife Ruth Clark.

As we pray for him let’s ask that God would bless his career in politics. Also pray that he would be able to represent his constituency with Godly wisdom & fairness.

Pierre De Bané

The Honourable Pierre De Bané was appointed on June 29, 1984 to represent the region of De la Vallière, Quebec. He was born in Haifa of Lebanese descent and was the first Arab-born Canadian to serve as an M.P. in the House of Commons. He had several major roles in the Liberal government in the late 70′s and early 80′s as he was elected 5 times.

Mr. De Bané serves on the Senate Committee for Official Languages. he is also a member of the Foreign Affairs and International Trade committee.

May the Lord bless his marriage and use him to encourage people of Arab descent all across Canada. We pray that he will have the wisdom from God needed to make solid contributions to the committee on which he works. May he have health and strength for the remaining years of his appointment.

Joseph A. Day

The Honourable Joseph A. Day is the Liberal Senator representing Saint John – Kennebacasis in New Brunswick since 2001. He has had a long career in law and finance both in New Brunswick and Ontario.

Mr. Day serves as the Chair of the Senate Committee on National Finance, and also sits on the Committee for National Security and Defence

Let’s pray for him as he takes a special interest in supporting our military in Afghanistan and as he serves on international inter-parliamentary efforts. May the Lord use him as an effective servant to his constituents back in New Brunswick.

Jacques Demers

The Honourable Jacques Demers was appointed in August 2009 by Prime Minister Harper to represent the Rigaud region of Quebec. He sits as a member of the Conservative Caucus.

Mr. Demers is best known as the former head coach of the Montreal Canadians. He has since become a great advocate for literacy, and also for heart illnesses among children. He continues as a hockey commentator with RDS.

Jacques Demers sits on two Senate Committees. Aboriginal Peoples and also Social Affairs, Science and Technology.

He is married to Deborah Anderson.

Let us pray for a continuous strong health and for many years of productive representation in the Senate. May the Lord bless his marriage and all his family relationships.

Paul Dewar

Mr. Paul Dewar is the NDP Member of Parliament for Ottawa-Centre. This is his third term in the House of Commons.

Mr Dewar comes from a political family, his late mother having been the mayor of Ottawa.He currently sits on the Committee for Foreign Affairs and International Development.

Paul Dewar is married to Julia Sneyd and they have two boys, Nathaniel -15, and Jordan – 12.

Let us pray that he will have quality time with his wife and sons as he leads a busy life. May the Lord give him wisdom as he participates in the work on Committee and as he seeks to serve his constituents.

Barry Devolin

Mr. Barry Devolin is the M.P. representing Haliburton–Kawartha Lakes–Brock in central Ontario. He is a member of the Conservative Party and this is his fourth consecutive term on Parliament Hill.

Currently Mr. Devolin is the Deputy Chair of the Committees of the Whole, a very important role in keeping Parliament running smoothly. In other words he is a Deputy Speaker of the House working under the Honourable Andrew Scheer. He is using his experience in government well in this position.

Barry married Ursula Beachli in 1993. They have two children: George (2002) and Molly (2004).

Let’s pray that Barry would have the grace to be a great husband and father in the midst of his very busy life as a politician. Pray for his relationship with M.P.s of all other parties as he seeks to be a bridge builder in the House of Commons. May the Lord give him wisdom to represent his constituents well.

Don Davies

Don Davies is the Member of Parliament for Vancouver Kingsway, British Columbia. He is a member of the NDP, and this is his second term in Parliament. He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration. He is also the critic for Citizenship and Immigration.

Before Don became a member of Parliament, he was a lawyer, researcher, policy advisor and trade union representative. He holds a B.A. (Pol. Sci.) and an LL.B. Don is married to Sheryl Palm, they’ve been married for 24 years. They have 3 children and a yellow Labrador retriever.

Let us pray that Don would be able to stand for righteousness within his riding, and for Canada. As Don has been fighting for women, workers and the environment, let us pray that he would be able to also experience rest and peace in every decision he makes.
