Stephen Greene

Senator Greene is a representative of the Conservative party, serving the designation of Halifax – The Citadel, Nova Scotia.  He was born in Montreal and went to high school in Lorne Park,  Mississauga, Ontario. He has an Honours BA from McMaster University and an MA  from Dalhousie University. He lives in Halifax.

Senator Greene has extensive business experience as well as political and  public service experience at federal and provincial levels. He has a long involvement in the fishing industry, first serving at the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC. He subsequently joined Clearwater Fine Foods, Inc where he was Assistant to  the President (John Risley) for eight years. He subsequently worked in the insurance industry and became engaged in  national and international insurance issues. In 2006, he became Principal Secretary and Deputy Chief of Staff to Nova  Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald.

Please pray that he be known for his humility, which invites God’s great grace and protects them from pride.


Irving Gerstein

Senator Gerstein is a representative of the Conservative party, serving the designation of Ontario.  He graduated from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania, and attended The London School of Economics.

He is a Member of both the Order of Canada the Order of Ontario, Mr. Gerstein has been involved in politics for over 40 years, including service as Chair of the Conservative Fund Canada. He is an Honorary Director of Mount Sinai Hospital (Toronto), having previously served as Chairman of the Board, Chairman Emeritus, and a director over a period of twenty-five years. He is a director of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research and a former Chairman of the Young Presidents Organization.

He is the Chair of the Banking, Trade and Commerce Seante committee, as well as a member of the National Fianance Committee. Please pray that there would be a culture of co-operation and honour within all members of the Senate.



Jonathan Genesst-Jourdain

Mr.Genest-Jourdain is a newly elected member of the NDP party, serving the constituency of Manicouagan, Quebec. H was born in Uashat, an Indian reserve located in the Sept-Rivières Regional County Municipality, Quebec. He obtained a law degree from Laval University in 2005 and started a certificate
in business law. He became the first aboriginal MP elected in Quebec along with Roméo Saganash.

He was appointed spokesman of the official opposition in Canada for Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development. He is also a member of the Fianance committe. Please pray that he be encouraged to live a lifestyle that promotes good health and endurance.


Linda Frum

Senator Frum is a representative of the Conservative party, from the designation of  Ontario. she was born in Toronto, where she currently resides with her husband and 5 children. She attended Havergal College following which she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University.

She is an active member of the Toronto community, where she serves on several boards and  is also a recipient of the Golda Meir Leadership award  from the State of Israel bonds and the Human Relations award from the Canadian  Council of Christians and Jews.

Please pray that she pursue meaningful time with her family, which brings stability at home and at work.


Joan Fraser

Senator Fraser is a representative of the Liberal party, serving the designation of De Lorimier, Quebec. Senator Fraser lives in Montreal with her husband Michel Faure and together they have two  daughters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages from McGill University. Following university, she joined the Montreal newspaper The Gazette. She later  moved  to Financial Times of Canada, returning to he Gazette as  editorial page editor and was later appointed Editor-in-Chief. She also was Director-General of the Centre for  Research and Information on Canada, a division of the Council for Canadian  Unity.

During her career in journalism, she won two National Newspaper Awards and four National  Newspaper Award Citations of Merit, for editorial  writing. She has also won other awards for journalism, communications and her  work on women’s issues. She currently sits as Chair on the Senate committee for Legal and Constitutional Affairs, she also is a member on the committee for Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament  Selection Committee.

Suzanne Fortin-Duplessis

Senator Fortin-Duplessis is a representative of the Conservative party, serving the designation of  Rougemont, Quebec. She was born in Chicoutimi and is married to Maurice Duplessis. They have two children and are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.

She received a classical education at Collège Bon-Pasteur in Chicoutimi and attended the École des Beaux-arts in Quebec City. She then obtained a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and a college certificate in educational psychology at Laval University. While a teacher with the Louis-Fréchette regional school board, she became the first woman to be elected to the Municipal Council of the City of Sainte-Foy. She has a very extensive political career, along with numerous awards and recognitions. She also  during her career, served in the House of Commons.
