Elizabeth Hubley

Senator Hubley is a representative of the Liberal party, serving the constituency of Prince Edward Island, where she was born. She  attended Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown, and the Nova Scotia College  of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After many years as a dance instructor, she established her own dance  studio, Stepping Out, she continues to be its Artistic Director and  Principal Choreographer.

After many years as a dance instructor, Mrs. Hubley established her own dance  studio, Stepping Out, in 1980. She continues to be its Artistic Director and  Principal Choreographer.  Senator Hubley, has a long and prestigious career in the arts culture and is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Indian  River Festival and a member of the CUSO Cirlce.

Senator Hubley currently is the Vice Chair on the  Senate Committee for Fisheries and Oceans. She also serves as a member of the Human Rights committee. Please pray that there would be a culture of co-operation and honour within all parties.

Leo Housakos

Senator Housakos is a representative of the Conservative party, serving the designation of Wellington, Quebec. He is a graduate from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts and worked as a ministerial staffer in the Ministry of Multiculturalism. Senator Housakos, has a long and impressive involvement and leadership within Canadian politics, from the young age of sixteen.

Upon graduating from university, he became involved with the Hellenic Congress of Quebec and served two terms as its Vice-President, where he continued to expand upon his already impressive record of community activism. Mr. Housakos also co-founded the Hellenic Board of Trade in 1993, an organization dedicated to the development of business opportunities and networking in the Greater Montreal Area.

He and his wife Demi Papapanagiotou, have two children. Please pray that he be encouraged to live a lifestyle that promotes good health and endurance.

Celine Hervieux Payette

Senator Payette, is a representative of the Liberal party, serving the designation of  Bedford, Quebec. She was born in L’Assomption, Quebec, and holds a Law Degree, from the Université de Montréal (1973), and Certificate from the Canadian Investment Dealers Association (IDA).  She is a lawyer by profession and a  member of the Canadian Bar, as well as a member of the Quebec Bar.

Senator Payette, has numerous accomplishments, the most recent award presented  to her in 2006,  from the Financial Women’s Association Quebec (2006) social involvement award, for a member who has distinguished herself by her involvement in society. She is currently the Deputy Chair for the Banking, Trade and Commerce Senate committee. In addition she also sits on the  Scrutiny of Regulations (Joint)   committee.

Please pray that she be known as a woman of integrity, to stand up for what is right.

Laurie Hawn

Mr. Hawn is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Edmonton Centre, Alberta since 2006. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and prior to entering politics, he was employed as a  fighter pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force, following which he entered the financial world as a  broker, businessman and investment counsellor. He and his wife Judy, have two children and one grandchild.

He is a member of the Procedure and House Affairs committee, as well as a member of the Public Safety and National Security committee. He also sits as an associate member, on a number of other governmental committees. Please pray, that he would be known for his humility, which invites God’s great grace and protects them from pride.

Sana Hassaina

Ms. Hassaina is a newly elected  member of the NDP party, serving the constituency of Vercheres-Les Patriotes, Quebec. She was born in Tunis, Tunisia, Africa. prior to entering politics, she was employed as  an editor, French teacher, printer, project leader, radio host. She has a BA in Literature, a Master’s in French Literature and Language, and a certificate in Journalism from the University of Montreal.

She is a member of the  Scrutiny of Regulations and for the Status of Women committees. She also serves as an associate member on a number of other governmental committees. Please pray that she receive wise and Godly counselors to help her in reaching  her full potential.

Mac Harb

Senator Harb is a representative of the Liberal party, serving the designation of Ontario. He was born in Lebanon, and has a long and distinguished career in public service.   A graduate of the University of Ottawa with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a former college professor and engineer for Northern Telecom, he first entered politics as a Ottawa alderman in 1985.  He was a former engineer for Northern Telecom and professor at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Senator Harb’s political career started at the municipal level in Ottawa in 1985 as an alderman, and then as Deputy Mayor from 1987 to 1988.

He served 15 years as a Member of Parliament, and was then appointed to the Senate of Canada on September 8, 2003. He currently serves on the following Senate committees: Banking, Trade and Commerce Committee, Fisheries and Oceans Committee, Human Rights  Committee and the Scrutiny of Regulations (Joint)   Committee. Please pray that he be encouraged to live a lifestyle, that promotes good health and endurance.

Stephen Greene

Ms. Greene is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of  Fleetwood-Port Kells, British Columbia, since 2004. She was born in Japan, received her formal education in India at the Convent of Jesus and Mary, Simla, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and English Literature from Punjabi University, Patiala.  When she first arrived in Canada, she served society through community service, volunteer work, and political activism.  She was an active member of the Reform Party and Canadian Alliance, serving in a variety of local party positions and participating in numerous local and national conferences and conventions.

She serves on the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development, she also serves as an associate member on a number of other governmental committees. Please pray that she would be a women of integrity and courage, to stand up for what is right.
