Pierre Lemieux

Mr. Lemieux is the member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Glengarry—Prescott—Russell, Ontario, since 2006. He has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Royal Military College of Canada) and a Masters of Science, in addition he also holds a degree in Professional Engineering and is a certified Project Management Professional. Prior to his political career, he served in the Canadian Forces for 20 years and retired at the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. He is a strong supporter in the importance of family and together he and his wife have five children.

He currently serves as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture. In addition, he also serves on a variety of other governmental committees, such as the Finance committee and the committee for Fisheries and Oceans. Please pray that there would be a culture of co-operation and honor within all parties.

Ryan Leef

Mr. Leef is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of the Yukon. Prior to entering politics, he was a wildlife guide, Conservation Officer, RCMP Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Operations at the Whitehorse Correctional Centre. His family moved to the Yukon in 1984 and he has subsequently lived in many communities throughout the territory, along with his son Aaron. He attended the University of Windsor, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology

He serves as a Member of the Fisheries committee and the committee for Natural Resources. In addition he also serves as a member on a number of other parliamentary committee and has joined the Canada-Germany and Canada-United States inter parliamentary groups, and sits on BC/Yukon, Northern, Outdoor and National Caucuses.

Pray that he receive would pursue meaningful time with his family which brings stability at home and at work.

Hélène is a member of the NDP party, serving the constituency of LaSalle–Émard, Quebec. Prior to her political career, she was employed as an agronomist, interpretive guide and project manager.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture and environment from McGill University. Hélène has taught French in Vancouver and Ottawa and was an interpreter/guide for the Canada Museums of Science and Technology Corporation in Ottawa.

She currently serves as Chair on the committee for the Status of Women. In addition, she also serves as a member on the Liaison board, as well we an associate member of the Finance committee and the committee for Industry, Science and Technology. Please pray that she would have wise and Godly counselors to help her in reaching her full potential in her new role as a member of parliament.

Dominic LeBlanc

Mr. LeBlanc is a member of the Liberal party, serving the constituency of Beauséjour, New Brunswick since 2000. He was born in Ottawa and received a B.A. in political science from the University of Toronto (Trinity College). He then furthered his education in receiving his Bachelor of Law from the University of New Brunswick, and a Masters of Law from Harvard Law School. He is married to Jolène Richard, a Judge of the Provincial Court of New Brunswick.

He is the House Leader of the Liberal party and is also a member of the committee for House Affairs. Please pray that he be encouraged in his role and that the motives behind any decision would not feed selfish ambition, but will be for the good of the whole nation.

Denis Lebel

Minister Lebel is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Roberval-Lac-Saint-jean, Quebec since 2007. He was born in Roberval, Quebec, he and his wife, Danielle, have two children, . He is the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, as well as the Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec. He is also the President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada

Minister Lebel has a long and distinguished political career, during which he also served as  Mayor of Roberval from 2000 to 2007. In addition, he has served on a number of parliamentary committees, as well as on the executive committees of the Canada-Europe and Canada-France parliamentary associations.

Helene Laverdiere

Ms. Laverdiere is a newly elected member of the NDP party, serving the constituency of Laurier-Sainte-Marie, Quebec. She was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada. She  holds a doctoral degree in Sociology from the University of Bath in England,  is fluent in French, English, Spanish and speaks a bit of Mandarin Chinese. She lives in Montreal with her husband, Germain Bélanger.

After a brief period of research and teaching at Université Laval’s Sociology department, she entered Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as a foreign service officer and was posted to various locations, including Washington, D.C., Dakar, Senegal and Santiago, Chile. She has received various honours, including numerous scholarships and an award from the Minister of Foreign Affairs for her contribution to Canadian foreign policy.

Currently, she serves as a member of Foreign Affairs and International Development committee. She also serves as an associate member of the Finance committee & International Trade committee. Please pray, that she would be known for her humility, which invites God’s great grace and protects them from pride.

Guy Lauzon

Mr. Lauzon is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Stormont-Dundas-Wouth Glengarry, Ontario since 2004. he was born in St. Andrew’s West, Ontario. Prior to his political career, he was employed as a business manager of the Tri-County Protein Corp located in Winchester, Ontario. His career also included employment in public service as a manager and business sales representative.  He has received the Government of Canada Merit Award for the Creation of Canada’s first “Job Fair” with Human Resources Development Canada.

He currently serves as a member of the Citizenship and Immigration committee as well as an associate member on a number of other governmental committees, such as Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development committee.
