Robert Vincent

Mr. Robert Vincent is the Member of Parliament for Shefford in Quebec, a region to the east of Montreal that includes the city of Granby.  This is his third consecutive term representing this riding and he is a member of the Bloc Quebecois party.

Robert Vincent worked as a foreman and as a union representative before choosing to run for public office.

Mr. Vincent is a member of the Veteran Affairs Committee.

Let’s pray for Mr. Vincent that as he rubs shoulders with M.P.s of all stripes that he will be encouraged personally and also develop a heart for all parts of our country.  May the Lord give him divine wisdom and revelation as he seeks to serve his constituency well.

Jose Verner

The Honourable Josée Verner is the Member of Parliament for Louis-Saint-Laurent, a part of Quebec City.  This is her 2nd term on The Hill and she sits as a member of the Conservative Caucus.

Ms. Verner has spent close to 20 years in the communications and public service fields, including at the Quebec provincial Ministry of Health and Social Services.

Ms Verner has held a number of Cabinet postions and is currently President of the Privy Council, the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister responsible for the Francophonie.

She is married and has 3 children.

Let us pray for Josée as she seeks to balance her many heavy responsibilities with her role as a wife and mother.  May she be given the wisdom that comes from above to make decisions every day which affect our nation.  Pray for helpful and godly relationships around her life and her office.

David Anderson

The Honourable David Anderson is the MP for Cypress Hills—Grasslands, Saskatchewan.  He is a member of the Conservative Party and this will be his fourth term in Parliament.

He is currently a member of the Natural Resources committee.  He is also the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources and for the Canadian Wheat Board.

He has been married to his wife Sheila since 1982, and has two children; Amy and Andrew.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Masters of Divinity.

Let’s pray that God would give David great wisdom and courage as he is a light for Christ in Parliament.  And let us also remember his family, and that God would bless them with unity and strength.

Maurice Vellacott

The Honourable Maurice Vellacott represents Saskatoon—Wanuskewin, in Saskatechewan.  This is his 5th term in the House of Commons and he is a member of the Conservative Caucus.

Maurice grew up in rural Saskatchewan and continues to live on a small farm in his riding.  He has an earned doctorate after years of study in theology and has worked previously as a pastor and in health care.

Mr. Vellacott is a member of the Committee for Human resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.

Maurice is married to Mary and they have 4 children and 8 grandchildren.

Let’s pray for Mr. Vellacott as he continues to take strong moral stands on Parliament Hill.  May God give him wisdom to speak into every situation and courage to withstand media attacks.  Pray that he will enjoy health and strength to do his work and also minister to his wife and family.

Peter Van Loan

The Honourable Peter Van Loan is the Member of Parliament for York-Simcoe a fast growing region to the north of Toronto.  This is his third term in Ottawa and he is a member of the Conservative Caucus.

Mr. Van Loan has held numerous cabinet posts in the last few years and is currently the Minister responsible for Intergovernmental Affairs.  He served as a lawyer after graduating from the University of Toronto, having also taught in their Masters Planning program.  Mr. Van Loan is well known as a key organizer in Ontario for the Conservative party having been active at every level and holding many chairmanships over the years.

Let us pray for this very influential politician that he would enjoy healthy relationships amongst his colleagues across Party lines.  Pray that he would maintain his integrity and spur others on to become good public servants in their positions of influence.

Dave Van Kesteren

The Honourable Dave Van Kesteren is the Member of Parliament for Chatham-Kent-Essex in southwestern Ontario.  This is his second term in Ottawa and he sits as a member of the Conservative Caucus.

Mr. Van Kesteren is a member of the Foreign Affairs and International Development Committee as well as the Committee for Industry, Science and Technology.

Before enterering politics, Mr. Van Kesteren owned an autobody shop and then held a Hyundai auto dealership in his riding.  He is very active on numerous inter-parliamentary groups that have allowed him to travel to other countries on matters of trade and friendship.

Dave has been married to Faye for 34 years and they have 8 adult children and many grandchildren.

Let’s pray for Mr. Van Kesteren that he would continue to be an influence for strong morality among his colleagues of all parties.  Pray for him to have wisdom in all his dealings, on his committee work and also in solving problems for his constiuents.  May the Lord grant him great health to enjoy his marriage and family.

Francis Valeriote

The Honourable  Francis Valeriote is the Member of Parliament for Guelph, a city an hour to the west of Toronto.  He is a member of the Liberal Caucus and this is his first term in the House of Commons.

Francis is trained as a lawyer and served for 18 years on the local Catholic School Board of which he was eventually the Chair.  He is active in many community affairs including Missionary Ventures Canada.

Mr. Valeriote is a member of the Agriculture and Agri-foods Committee.

Francis is married to Catherine and they have two young children, Olivia and Dominic.

Let us pray for Mr. Valeriote that he will continue to be a man of conviction for moral values as he continues to develop his career in politics.  May the Lord provide him with wonderful cross-party relationships that will strengthen him as a husband and father in his role.

Tim Uppal

The Honourable  Tim Uppal is the Member of Parliament for Edmonton-Sherwood Park in Alberta.  This is his first term in Parliament and he sits as a member of the Conservative Caucus.

Born in B.C. Mr. Uppal comes from a hard working Canadian family of northern Indian heritage.  He worked previously as a mortgage manager in the TD Bank and then as a Senior Advisor to the Conservative Party.

Mr. Uppal is a member of three committees: the Health Committee, Canadian Heritage and Citizenship and Immigration committee. He is also the chair for the Subcommittee on neurological Disease of the Standing Committee

He is married to Kira and they have a baby daughter – Kirpa.

Let us pray for Tim Uppal that he will have grace to be a great husband and father in the midst of his busy life in Ottawa.  May the Lord give him great collegial relationships which will be a blessing to his whole family.  Pray that he will have wisdom to represent his constiuents well.

Merv Tweed

the Honourable Merv Tweed is the Member of Parliament for Brandon-Souris in western Manitoba.  He sits as a part of the Conservative Caucus and this is his third term on The Hill.

Merv had served in municipal government, then was a representative to the provincial legislature and a cabinet minister at that level.  He is a graduate of the University of Brandon.

Mr. Tweed is the chair of the Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities.  This committee has been overseeing the implementation of the economy boosting projects announced to fight the recession.

Let us pray for Mr. Tweed that he will know the wisdom that comes from above in all his dealings with colleagues and constiuents.  Let’s pray that he will be a man of integrity who is able to influence many others to seek to live an upright life as they work on Parliament Hill.

Justin Trudeau

The Honorable Justin Trudeau is the Member of Parliament for Papineau, a downtown Montreal riding.  This is his second term on The Hill and his sits as a member of the Liberal Caucus.

Coming from a prominent political family, Mr. Trudeau chose to run in a challenging inner-city riding in order to represent an urban population.  As the eldest son of the late Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau there is added pressure and expectation on his performance.  He previously worked as a teacher in Vancouver.  Justin is a passionate champion for empowering young Canadians and also for the Environment.

Mr. Trudeau is a member of the bill C-49 committee, citizen and immigration committee as well as the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee.

He is married to Sophie Grégoire and they have two young children.

Let’s pray for this young leader who seems to have a great destiny in the years to come within the Liberal Party.  In these formative years of his political career let us pray for key relationships in his life that will have lasting impact.  May he have the wisdom and time to be a great husband and father and a great representative for his constituents.
