Josee Verner

Senator Verner is a member of the Conservative party, serving the designation of Montarville, Quebec. Senator Verner was first elected as a Member of Parliament in 2006 and re-elected in 2008. In February 2006, Ms. Verner was appointed Minister of International Cooperation and Minister for La Francophonie and Official Languages. In August 2007, she was named Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages. In May 2008, she was assigned once again the title of Minister for La Francophonie.

In October 2008, she was named minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, President of the Privy Council for the Queen of Canada, Minister for La Francophonie as well as Minister responsible for the region of Quebec. She is married and has three children.

Please pray that she pursue meaningful time with her family, which brings stability at home and at work.

Maurtice Vellacott

Mr. Vellacott is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Saskatoon—Wanuskewin, since 1997. Her has a bachelor’s degree, as well as a master’s degree from the Canadian Theological Seminary and an earned doctoral degree from Trinity Int. University of Chicago. He and his wife Mary have four children and eight grandchildren, they currently reside in rural Saskatoon.

Prior to his political career, he served as a business owner, pastor, teacher and health care worker. Currently, Mr. Vellacott  is a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.

Please pray that he will be a man of  integrity and courage to stand up for what is right.

Peter VanLoan

Mr. VanLoan is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of  York-Simcoe since 2004. He has an Honours B.A., Masters of Arts in International Relations, Bachelor of Laws as well as a graduate planning degree from the University of Toronto, where he later taught in the Masters Planning Program. Prior to entering politics he practised municipal and planning law for 16 years.

Mr. VanLaon is the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons. Please pray that there would be a culture of co-operation and honour, within all parties.

Dave VanKesteren

Mr. VanKesteren is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Chatham-Kent Essex, since 2006.  Prior to entering politics he worked in the auto industry, during which time he opened his first auto body shop, later running his own used car business. He and his wife Faye have eight children and several grandchildren.

He is a member of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology and the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development. He also serves on numerous Parliamentary Associations and Interparliamentary Groups.

Please pray that he pursue meaningful time with family, which brings stability at home and at work.

Frank Valeriote

Mr. Valeriote is a member of the Liberal party, serving the constituency of Guelph, Ontario, since 2008. He was educated in Guelph and graduated from the University of Western Ontario, he then received a Law Degree from the University of Ottawa. He co-founded a law firm, where he served as a senior partner until his election. He and his wife Catherine live in Guelph and have two children.

He is the Liberal Party Critic for Agriculture & Agri-Food, Rural Affairs and the Automotive Sector, member of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food where he serves as a Vice-Chair, co-founder of the Parliamentary Coalition on Palliative and Compassionate Care, and serves as the Chair of the Liberal Automotive Caucus.

Please pray that the motives behind any decision would not feed selfish ambition but will be for the good of the whole nation.

Bernard Valcourt

Mr. Valcourt is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Madawaska–Restigouche, New Brunswick. He was born in  St-Quentin, New Brunswick, prior to entering politics he was employed as a Barrister and solicitor in the city of Edmonton.

He is the associate Minister of National Defence and the Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency) (La Francophonie). Pleaser pray that he would be encouraged to live a lifestyle that promotes good  health and endurance.

Tim Uppal

Mr. Uppal is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Edmonton-Sherwood Park, since 2008. He was born in British Columbia in and has spent most of his life in Edmonton, he and his wife Kiran, a lawyer, have two children.  Prior to entering politics, Mr. Uppal was a Residential Mortgage Manager for TD Canada Trust and served as a Senior Advisor for the Conservative Party of Canada.

He is the Minister of State (Democratic Reform) and has served on the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration and the Standing Committee on Health.

Please pray that he will be known for his humility, which invites God’s great grace and protects from pride.

Merve Tweed

Mr. Tweed is a member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of Brandon-Souris, Manitoba, since 2004.  Mr. Tweed was  born and raised in Medora and graduated from Brandon University. Prior to entering politics he owned and operated a successful family business for 19 years. Currently,  he is the Chair of the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. He is also a member and associate member of a number of other governmental committees.

Nycole Turrmel

Nycole Turrmel, is a newly elected member of the NDP party, serving the constituency of  Hull-Aylmer, Quebec. She was born in Ste-Marie de Beauce, Quebec, prior to entering politics, she was employed as a Consultant, municipal administrator, public servant and union officer.

From 1979 to 2006, she held different Union positions at the local, regional and national levels. Upon retiring, she was National President of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, the first women to ever hold that position. Currently she is the Chief Opposition Whip of the opposition party, she is also a member of the  Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates, as well as a member of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

Please pray that she would be encouraged to live a lifestyle that promotes good health and endurance.

Susan Truppe

Ms. Truppe is a newly elected member of the Conservative party, serving the constituency of London-North-Centre, in the province of Ontario. Ms. Truppe resides in Windsor, Ontario, prior to entering politics she worked as a business executive, entrepreneur and political assistant. She had her husband Walter, have one son.

She is a member of the Status for Women Committee, as well as an associate member of a number of other government committees. Please pray for wise and Godly counselors to help her reach her full potential.
